The Pylon in the Barley - 42 x 59 cms, charcoal, pastel and conté. I particularly liked the green barley showing through in the tractor lane. Still to mature, it adds a delightful blast of green to the otherwise lighter and yellower field. I also love the relationship between the pylon and the whispy tree in the distant hedgerow. Framed, £1200.00 + p&p. This image can be seen full screen on the landscape page.

The old lead pump - acrylics, pastels, charcoal and conte - 42 x 59 cms - This, my most recent image, has been a joy to create. It seemed fitting to immortalise the old lead pump in our utility room, obviously previously the main water supply for the house. There is a tension between the old pump, slowly being claimed and consumed by the shadows and the nice bright and well- used sink beside it. the wall, too is alive with activity, as if full of stories of the past. FRAMED £1,200.00 + p&p - This image can be seen full screen on the landscape page.

Fields of Gold - Bales at Red House Farm - 42 x 100cms This is the final of the 'Fields of Gold' harvest series.. The bales are now in and stacked for use as bedding for the cattle over the winter months - indeed, some were removed from the pile before I had finished the image... thankfully I had pretty much finished. The autumn leaves had begun to appear and fall whilst I was working on this - they do add such a delightful added range of colour to the image, and the morning light with the long shadows brings beautiful tonal variations. It is a metre wide, but the breadth of the image really adds a sense of place. FRAMED £2,200.00 + p&p - This image can be seen full screen on the landscape page.

Fields of Gold - Bales in Back Meadow. Pastels - 42 x 59 cms - With the harvest in, the bales of straw are left in the field to be collected and stored for the coming winter to provide bedding for the cattle in their shed. The long evening shadows and the warm light throw up so many delightful colours in the field, the trees and also the barn. FRAMED £1200.00 + p&p - This image can be seen full screen on the landscape page.

The old stables and the studio. - acrylics,  pastels and conte - 42 x 59 cms - This image was completed in the dead of winter, when all around was cold and dull, with the wind a regular feature. The trees are leafless and everything has a wintery feel about it. The moss on the roof of the old stables is saturated and heavy on the roof - and yet, a little light from the sun directly on the studio and the grass surrounds lifts the image into a joyful place. FRAMED £1,200.00 + p&p - This image can be seen full screen on the landscape page.

This image (Fields of Gold 1 - Towards Fentons) was drawn in pastels at midday, so has a particular quality of light. I was reminded also of the Poem 'The Journey of the Magi' by TS Eliot...'Then at dawn we came down to a temperate valley....and three trees on the low sky'. FRAMED £1200.00 + p&p

Pink trees in Ireland field - acrylics, pastels and conte - 42 x 59 cms - As the long wintery shadows persisted, so something equally fun began to happen - as I walked, I could see the trees changing colour and they came over to me as pink, radiant against the sky. The sky too was vivid and exciting creating quite an active, yet peaceful scene. FRAMED £1,200.00 + p&p - This image can be seen full screen on the landscape page.

This image (FIelds of Gold 3 - towards Tannington)  looks across a mild valley, though quite a big one for Suffolk, towards the village of Tannington. Seven fields of wheat are displayed, some quite distant. This was drawn at dawn, and it was a joy watching the day evolve. the colours were so vivid from that angle. £1200.00 framed +p&p.

The Farm entrance. Pastel, charcoal and conte. 42 x 59 cms. - I really wanted to capture the lovely light that shone through the trees towards the end of autumn, across the leaves that lay scattered over the road. On the one hand there are trees now almost devoid of leaves whilst the evergreens hold onto theirs, boldly continuing to stretch out across the fence and the road. - This image can be seen full screen on the landscape page. - SOLD

Fields of Gold - Harvesting back Meadow. Pastels - 42 x 59 cms - This image was drawn in the evening as the sun went down. This is number 4 in the Fields of Gold series. More to follow. I wanted to capture the harvester moving through a field of barley, without the harvester itself dominating the whole image. I have enjoyed catching the richness of colours on this beautiful evening with the deep and stretching shadows. - This image can be seen full screen on the landscape page. SOLD

The Barns behind the House, Suffolk. Pastels 42 x 59 cms - this is an image of the gap between our barns. It shows the change of colours as autumn begins to settle in and the days get shorter. The evening light creates a delightful tonal variation and the autumn colours are beginning to creep in to the trees. The old grain store on the left has a very old ladder up to the first floor entrance which you would be well advised not to try and climb, but adds a delightful touch to the image as it slowly deteriorates. - This image can be seen full screen on the landscape page. SOLD

This image (Fields of Gold 2 - towards Fentons barn) was drawn in the evening as the light began dropping and the temperature cooled. Really enjoyed the colours thrown up by the light and the deepness of the shadows. Amazing pinks in the sky...as i worked on it, I kept thinking of the extraordinary beauty in things we take so easily for granted - for example, tractor tracks through the wheat in such a glorious setting. It reminded me also of the quote from Robert Frost of 'The road less travelled..'. Framed. SOLD

Guineafowl - evening call. - Acrylics, varnish, pigments, charcoal, pastels and conte - 45 x 63 cms - Guineafowl remain always a delight to see. Their heads are almost prehistoric, whilst the cackle they make when alarmed and especially in the evenings, letting everyone know they are there is always a joy to hear.
I used a mix of varnish and coloured pigment to create the base colours for the background and then built on that with acrylics and pastels which I think all work very well together. - This image can be seen full screen on the animal drawings page. SOLD

This is an image of Cecil, the lion who used to roam the Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe with his brothers, before being lured out of the park by hunters to satisfy a client. I have re-hashed the image recently and Cecil now really comes forward and looks magnificent in the warm evening light. the Drawing is framed and for sale at £1200.00 + p&p.
